How georanker.com is built to be found by AI
A GEO company’s own website should be the first proof of method. Here is exactly what’s on this one, and why.
The principle
AI engines and search crawlers can only cite what they can fetch, parse and understand. So the goals were simple: make every page readable without JavaScript, make every important fact explicit and consistent, and make the site easy to summarize.
What we did
1. Server-rendered, plain HTML pages
Every page is a real HTML file with its content in the markup. Many crawlers — including some AI crawlers — don’t execute JavaScript, so content injected by scripts can be invisible to them. Navigation and footer are written into each page at build time, not injected in the browser.
2. One clear entity: company and founder
The home page declares Organization schema (name, URL, contact, founder) and the About page declares a Person for Herman, linked with @id references so machines can connect the two. The facts match the visible text exactly.
3. Descriptive, unique page titles and descriptions
Each page has its own title, meta description and canonical URL, and states what the page is about in the first screen of content.
4. Answer-first content
Pages lead with direct statements — what GeoRanker does, who it’s for, what’s available today versus in early access — rather than marketing filler. FAQ answers are short, self-contained and honest about limits.
5. Machine-readable site guide
The site publishes /llms.txt (a short Markdown summary of the site and its key pages), /sitemap.xml and a permissive /robots.txt. A note on honesty: llms.txt is a community proposal, and there’s no public guarantee that any particular engine reads it. It’s cheap, harmless and a useful discipline — not a magic switch.
6. A genuinely useful free tool
The GEO starter-kit generator creates Organization JSON-LD and llms.txt for any firm, entirely in the browser. Useful pages earn links and citations; thin “contact us” pages don’t.
7. Fast, simple, accessible
No heavy framework, semantic headings, readable contrast, keyboard-friendly navigation and respect for reduced-motion preferences.
What we deliberately did not do
- No invented testimonials, logos or statistics.
- Product screenshots are labelled as concept / sample data.
- No hidden text or keyword stuffing — it hurts trust with both search engines and language models.
How to verify
View source on any page, paste a URL into Google’s Rich Results Test or the Schema Markup Validator, or fetch llms.txt yourself. And ask an AI assistant about GeoRanker — we’ll publish how that changes over time as the site is indexed.
