About
Hi, I’m Herman.
I’m the founder of GeoRanker. I build data systems and study how language models work, and I use both to help firms get found in a world where customers increasingly ask an AI before they ask Google.
Why GeoRanker
Search is changing shape. For two decades, being found meant ranking on a page of links. Now a growing share of discovery happens inside an answer: a model reads the web, picks a few names, and explains why. Most firms have no idea whether they’re in that answer — or what they could change to be.
I started GeoRanker to make that visible and fixable. The work sits where two of my interests meet: engineering (clean data, reliable pipelines, measurable outcomes) and language models (how they read, retrieve and cite sources).
How I work
- Measure first. Before recommending anything, I record what AI engines and Google actually say about your firm today.
- No guarantees, no tricks. AI answers vary by model, prompt and day. I won’t promise rankings — I’ll show evidence, make changes that raise your odds, and track the trend.
- Build, don’t just advise. I prefer shipping the structured data, content and technical fixes over handing you a PDF.
- Show my work. My own website follows the practices I recommend, and the case studies explain exactly how things were built (see how).
